    Fr. Paul Fagan, CP

    Retreat Director

Father Paul Fagan, C.P. grew up in Port Vue, Pa., a little town south of Pittsburgh. At the age of 14, his family moved Harrisburg, PA but just for a year and then it was on to the Philadelphia area where he finished his high school education. Once he finished high school it was time to start out on his own, so Fr. Paul made his way to St. Louis, where he attended St. Louis University. He received a BSSW, (Social Work), from St. Louis University in 1976 and immediately went to work for the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services as a Child Care Worker. During his four and a half years with DCFS, Fr. Paul worked with abused and neglected children and their families, teenagers and was involved in specialized adoptions.

Fr. Paul is in his ninth year as retreat director of the Passionist Spiritual Center. He is energized by the ministry of preaching. Giving people good words to reflect on and prayerful celebrations is what he always hopes to accomplish when he enters the preaching moment. One of his heroes has always been the Apostle Paul, a traveling preacher himself. Sharing his faith with others in a genuine way, as St. Paul did, is Fr. Paul's life long goal! He works at being a quiet peaceful man; with an interest in people and the goodness and joy, they can bring to life.
